How it works

From first search to confident decision

Most car sites stop at search results. CheapCars takes you all the way from “I need a car” to “we're buying this one” — with your people involved the whole way.

  1. 1

    Search smarter

Describe what you need in plain English — “reliable SUV under $15K near Chicago” or “good first car for a teenager.” No dropdowns, no filters. Our AI finds real listings from local dealers, scored so you know what’s actually a good price.

  2. 2

    Save what catches your eye

Build lists of vehicles you’re considering. Spotted something on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace? The Chrome extension lets you clip it with one click — it lands right alongside your dealer results.

  3. 3

    Bring your people in

Share your list with your partner, family, or that friend who knows cars. Everyone can add vehicles, leave comments, and vote on favorites. No more texting screenshots back and forth.

  4. 4

    Decide together

Can’t agree? Run a ranked-choice poll and let the math settle it. Compare vehicles side-by-side on price, mileage, deal score, and more. Keep private notes for your own thoughts, shared comments for the group.

  5. 5

    Buy with confidence

Deal scores, market data, your crew’s input, and AI you can keep asking questions — all in one place. No more spreadsheets, group chats, or bookmark folders.

Better together

Car shopping is a team sport

Whether it's your partner, your parents, or that friend who knows every engine ever made — bring them in. Everyone sees the same list, and everyone gets a say.

One list, everyone’s finds

Create a list, invite your crew. Everyone can add vehicles and see the full picture.

Thumbs up, thumbs down

Quick votes on every vehicle. See where your group agrees — and where they don’t.

Talk it through

Threaded comments on any vehicle. @mention someone to pull them into the conversation.

Let the math decide

Can’t agree? Run a ranked-choice poll. Everyone ranks their picks, and the fairest option wins.

Side by side

Compare any vehicles on price, mileage, deal score, and more. Best values highlighted.

Your eyes only

Keep private notes on any vehicle. Your co-shoppers won’t see them.

No surprises

Know what you're looking at

Every listing gets a deal score — a straightforward rating based on asking price vs. market average, factoring in mileage and time on lot. You see the same prices dealers post. No markups, no lead-gen forms, no bait and switch.

CheapCars is free to use. No account required to search — sign in to save vehicles, create lists, and collaborate.

Tips

  • Be specific. “4WD truck under $20K with under 80K miles” works better than “show me trucks.”
  • Keep asking.Once you have results, dig deeper — insurance estimates, reliability, how two cars stack up side by side.
  • Clip your P2P finds. Dealer results are automatic. The extension is most valuable for Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace listings you don't want to lose.
  • Watch the deal scores. Green means priced below market — the fastest way to spot a good deal without doing your own research.
  • Share early.Add your co-shopper to a list before you've narrowed down — more eyes means more finds.
  • Use polls for big decisions. If you're down to 3–4 finalists, a ranked-choice poll is faster than a group text debate.
